Name: Michel Mateo, Blended Learning Specialist at CFK’s Youth Engagement Center
Michel’s Hometown: Uptown Manhattan
CFK: What were you doing before you joined CFK?
MICHEL: I was Head Teacher in a preschool/daycare for 3 years. I got my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Bronx Community College.
CFK: What’s your favorite childhood memory?
MICHEL: My favorite memory as a kid was being surrounded by my family, all under one roof. I have great memories of us all traveling together.
CFK: What do you love most about working with kids?
MICHEL: I love their sense of humor and how accepting they are of me.
CFK: Who was your hero when you were growing up?
MICHEL: My hero as child would have to be my parents - as cliche as that sounds! I wouldn’t be the person I am today without them.
Thanks, Michel, for all you do at the YEC to create opportunities for kids to overcome inequity and learn remotely!
