Who does the YEC serve?
500 kindergarten thru 8th grade students from neighboring schools P.S. 6x and Emolior Academy Middle School.

How much does it cost?
Nothing! The YEC is completely free to students.

What are the operating hours?
The YEC is open 5 days a week Monday thru Friday from 8a to 6p. Your child will be assigned a schedule based on their in-person days at school.

Can my child come just for after school?
No, students will be enrolled for the full day program 8a-6p.

What if my child will be late?
If a student arrives late due to an excused absence like a doctor’s appointment, a parent / guardian must sign them in at the front desk.

What if I need to pick up my child early?
If a student needs to leave early, an approved parent / guardian should contact the front desk to arrange pick-up.

Is there a dress code?
Yes, the dress code is a CFK logo t-shirt (any color of student’s choice) and any bottom. Each student will be provided with 2 shirts upon enrollment. Everyone in the building must wear a face covering at all times. Masks with breathing valves are not allowed.

Can I buy extra t-shirts?
Yes, additional shirts are available for purchase for $7. Please contact the front desk.

Will CFK provide meals and snacks?
Yes, two hot meals a day and one snack a day will be provided.

What if my child has food allergies?
All allergies should be registered with the health office. Alternative food will be provided.

Can my child bring his/her own meals or snacks?
Yes, nut-free foods are allowed. Please note food cannot be heated heated or refrigerated. Food sharing is not allowed.

What safety precautions are you taking with COVID-19?
CFK has extensive guidelines in place to keep its students and employees safe. The YEC follows all CDC guidelines and the NYC DOE’s COVID-10 protocols. Please view our full healthy and safety protocol here.

What happens if a student tests positive?
Please refer to our health and safety protocol.

Are you testing for COVID-19?
No, however we encourage staff to get tested regularly and if you or anyone in your household are experiencing any symptoms we encourage you to get tested immediately and notify the front desk.

Are visitors allowed in the building?
Only pre-authorized visitors are allowed in the building. Parents / guardians will drop off and pick up students from the front vestibule and / or outside of the building.
